About Me

Originally from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, I have been playing guitar for around 15 years, first picking it up at the age of 12 and instantly falling in love. In 2005 I graduated from Salford University with a First Class Honours Degree in Popular Music and Recording. Since then I went on to become both head of guitar tuition at Life Music in Chester, as well as a free-lance professional record producer. I am currently vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for Manchester based Progressive Metal outfit Spires, who have recently released their debut full length album, to widespread critical aclaim.

I have played in bands all around England since I was sixteen, playing in venues such as Manchester Academy and The Cavern in Liverpool. I listen to a wide range of music, from Metal right through to Jazz and Classical, and I believe a wide base of inspirition is essential to produce a well rounded player. It is my passion and enthusiasm for playing and writing that I believe will rub off on my students. After all, if its not fun for you, why bother!
